General - Worstead is an oasis of Flemish
history and architecture set in rolling countryside bordering
the Norfolk broads. The old town was a significant medieval
centre of commerce developed by immigrant weavers from Flanders
in the 14th century and landmarked by an outstanding church
dating back to 1369. The village hosts the largest annual festival
in Norfolk. Boasting a railway station providing services on
the Norwich to Sheringham line, public house, junior and nursery
school. Further facilities can be found in the nearby market
town of North Walsham including supermarket, doctors' surgeries
and all levels of school including sixth form college. The
city of Norwich is about 12 miles to the south of the village.

Equestrian - Hacking in the area is in lovely
countryside with a number of bridleways close by. For competition
purposes
there are number of local shows in the area and for main affiliated
competition - Blackwater Farm, Great Witchingham (BHTA) is
approximately 20 miles, Burnham Market Eventing Centre (BHTA,
BSJA & Unaff) is 40 miles andForest Edge EC (BSJA, BD,
BDS, BDT, NPS & Unaff) is approximately 45 miles away.
There are approximately 50 miles of off road riding a long
the Weaver's Way, Permit riding 5 miles away at Bacton Wood,
and beach riding is available at Holkham approximately 35 miles
away
DIRECTIONS
From Norwich take the B1150 south towards North Walsham.
After about twelve miles turn right at the crossroads signposted
Worstead. Proceed into the village and the property can be
found on the left hand side opposite the village sign. |
